Self Portrait _ T. Mahicha

At times one does experience the merging. Observing the tree, gives us this basic understanding. The merging with nature and then with entire universe gives a new experience of freedom within manifested world.

'Tree of Life' Paintings for interiors

Umang Shah approached me in regards to my Tree of Life series. This time he wanted a sequence of same for an interior space for a restaurant in Ahmadabad - Gormo.

What resulted our meetings was a reversible painted "Tree of Life", painted on both side on semi transparent fabric (CHANDERI SAREE-TEXTURE)

This pictures are from one of my visit with family to the restaurant long after it was done. I must say Umang completely did a great job with the interior design of the space while using my painting beautifully.

Vegetable Dying Workshop _ Ahmedabad

I would like to share a photo-documentation of one of our Vegetable Dying Workshops conducted by my daughter Praveena Soni and myself.

Apart from knowledge, techniques and how-to-do guidance from teachers, it takes both students and teachers to make any workshop successful and a memorable experience of learning-s... such as this one!
Our students for this batch were: Pinky, Aan, Neha, Rita, Naitree (youngest of our students) and my friend Pankaj Patel- a visiting faculty of design & a professional himself who joined us for the workshop. Pankaj added some noteworthy value to experience for our students by triggering questions and brainstorming. I thank him for helping us photo-document this workshop as well.

TANTRA _ Tapestry Weave Project

This is an ongoing project I have been working for my friend Khemraj-ji who is one of the very dedicated, refined and skillful weaver I have ever worked with.

As a part of this project, it was an opportunity to not only study Tantra art & history but also to design & create artworks for Tapestry Weaving. Both being subjects of my interest, it was & is enjoyable experience.

Here are some experiments, explorations and final designs for you to see.
